Savage was born Oct. 12, 1894, at Tarnov, the son of Stanley and Mary T. Augustyn Savage. He attended St. Michael school, Tarnov. He moved in 1915 to Cedar Rapids, Boone county, and in 1917 was married to Louise Bogus at St. Anthony church, Cedar Rapids. He quit farming in 1922 and moved to Columbus, where he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist helper. He retired in 1950. Mr. Savage was a member of St. Anthony church and the Holy Name Society. He is survived by his wife. They had two sons: Leonard, the Rev. Bruno Leonard Savage, O.F.M., who is stationed in Midlothian, Ill., and Lawrence, who died in 1947. Surviving brothers and sisters are Vera Zabawa of Omaha, Frank and Alois Savage of Columbus and Miss Josephine Savage of Schuyler. Also, a survivor is Mrs. William Ripka of Newark, N. J. Deceased brothers and sisters are Kathryn Heckman of Omaha, Michael Savage and Cecelia Savage.
