Description	:	Joseph was the son of Joseph Stangl and Anna Marie Maisl. He married Dorothy Halbig on Nov 25, 1875 in Dyersville, Iowa. They were the parents of 10 children: Anna (Kerr), Josephine (Balk), John George, Mary (Boje), Francis (Spartz), Dorothea (Goodman), George, Gustine, Theresa Ann (Lacey), and Joseph. They were the parents of 10 children: Anna (Kerr), Josephine (Balk), John George, Mary (Boje), Francis (Spartz), Dorothea (Goodman), George, Gustine, Theresa Ann (Lacey), and Joseph. Jan 10, 1924 - Carroll Times - Joseph Stangl, a resident of Carroll county for almost 60 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Boji, Monday night January 7. He was born in Dyersville, Ia., in 1850, and grew to young manhood at that place. His marriage to Miss Dorothy Halbig took place at Dyersville November 25, 1875. They lived there two years before coming to Carroll county where Mr. Stangl has since resided. In earlier years Mr. Stangl farmed but in later years he was flagman for the Great Western railroad in Carroll at the Adam's street crossing. Of the 10 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Stangl nine are living. One son, George, died November 13, l918. The living are Mrs. L.O. Kerr, Omaha; Mrs. Adam Balk, Wilmont, Minn; John Stangl, Marlon, S.D.; Mrs Frank Boji, Carroll; Mrs. Henry Spartz, Clark, S.D.; Mrs. O.J. Goodman, Clark, S.D.; Mrs. Jake Weiler Lisbon, N.D.; Mrs. T.P. Lacey, Potosti, Mo.; and Joseph Stangl of Omaha. Mrs. Stangl died February 6, 1911. Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at SS. Pete and Paul's church.
