Description	:	Joseph Walter Clinton was born April 29, 1915. He attended the rural school in Victoria Township and Massena High School. He farmed with his father, Frank Clinton, before enlisting in the army in 1941. He was a World War II veteran and saw much foreign service with the National Guard, Company K, 168 Infantry, 34 Division. He left Fort Dix, New Jersey, among the first for Northern Ireland and encountered many hardships. He returned to the States for "R and R" and was sent back for reassignment and further foreign duty.
