Burial with military rites will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Superior. ================== Superior Express (Superior, NE), Thursday, October, 21, 1999 Joseph William Keifer Jr., 72, Tucson, Ariz., died Oct. 17, at his home. He was born in Bostwick, Aug. 17, 1927, the son of Joseph and Thelma Keifer. Graduating from Superior High School, he went on to the University of New Mexico where he received his certified public accountant license and an under-graduate degree. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles and received a master business administrator. With the U.S. Department of Education, he achieved the position of regional administrator in the Kansas City, Mo., and then the San Francisco offices. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet during World War II. He was an avid pilot. Survivors include his sons, Joseph William Keifer, III, Ashburn, Va., and Dr. John Keifer, Tucson, Ariz., and two grandsons. Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, is planned for June 17, 2000. Arrangements will be by Price Funeral Home, Superior.
