Description	:	MRS. JOSEPHINE BOUSSER Mrs. Josephine Bousser passed away, unexpectedly, in the Halstead Hospital on Sunday morning, January 13, 1957. She was taken to the Hospital the previous evening after being ill in her home for several days. Born on June 29, 1877 at Joliet, Illinois; together with her parents she came to the Halstead community as a child and lived her entire life in this vicinity. She attended the Lake School and later coming to Halstead where she met Harry H. Bousser, whom she married on May 25, 1901... Read More	MRS. JOSEPHINE BOUSSER Mrs. Josephine Bousser passed away, unexpectedly, in the Halstead Hospital on Sunday morning, January 13, 1957. She was taken to the Hospital the previous evening after being ill in her home for several days. Born on June 29, 1877 at Joliet, Illinois; together with her parents she came to the Halstead community as a child and lived her entire life in this vicinity. She attended the Lake School and later coming to Halstead where she met Harry H. Bousser, whom she married on May 25, 1901 in Newton. To them were born one daughter, Mrs. Katherine M. McElwain and a son, Gailen Bousser of Halstead. Mr. Bousser passed away in November of 1950. No one knows the extent of Mrs. Boussers influence in the Halstead community. Young people were always a delight to her and she always had a keen interest in their problems; keeping close contact with many of them even after they entered into the armed forces or left for respective colleges which they attended. Generous to a fault, she was constantly sending things that she baked to many different homes . . . . before her eyesight failed, things that she spent many tedious hours sewing. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Halstead and she sought continually to live the Christian Life. Life to her was "meaningful" and she lived by the concepts as she understood them. Surviving her are her daughter Mrs. Roy McElwain of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Gailen of Halstead: one grand son William E. Lentz of Guthrie and two great grandsons.
