Mrs. Ray suffered a massive stroke in November 1965, which left her paralyzed but with constant work and therapy, she had made a remarkable recovery. However, another attack a few weeks ago left her hospitalized in serious condition from which she did not make any improvement. Rev. Ocee Johnson of the Big Timber Lutheran church officiated at the service with Mrs. Myrtle Sell organist, and Mrs. Margaret Busha and Mr.s A. R. McDonnell vocalists. The vocal selections were "The Old Rugged Cross' and "In the Garden". Pallbearers were Hank See, Gene Spilde, Marvin Barber, Jim Long, Chuck Boe, and Johnny Boe of Billings. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery. Mrs. Ray was born in Sweet Grass county Feb. 1, 1919, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clyde Farthing. She attended country school, graduated from Sweet Grass County High School and attended Billings Business College. She married Leo Ray at Livingston in 1940. She had been employed by the Citizens Bank and Trust Co. as a bank clerk for 15 years prior to her illness. She was preceded in death by her father in 1957. Survivors include her husband of Big Timber; a daughter, Mrs. A. J. (Bonnie Jean) Lundquist of Chula Vista, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Etta Farthing of Big Timber, three sisters Mrs. Oswald Nevn Mrs. K. C. Jones, both of Big Timber and Mrs. Joe Weamer of Livingston; two brothers Don Farthing of Jamestown, N. D., and John Farthing of Big Timber; a granddaughter, Stacey Marie Boe of Big Timber.
