Description	:	Joshua Howard was the son of David Howard and Margaret Margerum. Joshua married Sarah Ellen Bunch on September 12, 1869 in Pleasant Township, Wapello County, Iowa. They had seven children together. Their children were William M., Sarah H., Malinda I., Minnie Ellen, Rheta, George W. and Dollie M. B. Sarah died May 17, 1900. Joshua married a second wife, Lura Ames, on March 31, 1909 in Tecumseh, Johnson County, Nebraska. They were divorced. SERVICES HELD YESTERDAY Entire Burr Community Turned Out to Do Honor to Murdered Townsman Funeral services for Joshua Howard, seventy-year-old Burr resident, who was murdered Saturday afternoon, were held yesterday at the home of the deceased man. The funeral was largely attended by Burr people, farmers and those who came from a distance. Little is known of Howard's family. One son lives near Douglas, and another in Lincoln, it was said yesterday. Another child lives in California. His wife has been dead for a great many years and since then he had lived alone in a house on the edge of the village.
