A grave side service was held Feb. 23 with burial at La Vista Memorial Park in National City, CA, and was attended by several nieces, nephews and friends residing in California. She was born Dec. 3 1915 in Border Township at the farm home of her parents Kristian and Inga Bratlien. Judith was baptized June 18, 1916 at a service held at a neighbor farm home with Rev. G. Bratlien Myers died Feb. 14, 2013 at her home in San Diego, CA. A grave side service was held Feb. 23 with burial at La Vista Memorial Park in National City, CA, and was attended by several nieces, nephews and friends residing in California. She was born Dec. 3 1915 in Border Township at the farm home of her parents Kristian and Inga Bratlien. Judith was baptized June 18, 1916 at a service held at a neighbor farm home with Rev. G. Hegg officiating. Zion Lutheran Church was under construction and not yet completed. She, with her sister Clara and several other young people in the community, was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. K.O. Waage officiating. Judith received her elementary education at Dolphin School in Border Township. As a young woman, she was employed in her home community as well as in Spring Valley, Wisc., where she and her sister Clara were employed for a year and later in Minot. During the early part of WW II, Judith, with other members of her family, traveled to California to be employed in defense-related and other work. Judith and Walter C. Myers, formerly of Minot, were married Jan. 18, 1942 at Burlingame, Calif. They later moved to San Diego, Calif., where Walter was employed in the aircraft industry. Walter passed away in September 2001 and Judith continued to live in her home at San Diego until her death. Judith remained close to her family and farm home in Border Township. She and Walter visited frequently, always sharing with enthusiasm all activities underway and often assisting at times of special need. She is missed by her family. Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, five brothers Clarence, Ted, Alfred, Arthur and Albert; two sisters Mable Montgomery and Clara Bratlien and a niece Kathryn J. Bratlien. She is survived by three sisters Lillian Swartz, Cypress, Calif., Ellen Bratlien, Noonan, Dorothy Fox, Salem, Ore. and numerous nieces and nephews.
