She grew up and attended rural country schools in the Hatton, Northwood and Portland areas. She married Clarence Strand on Aug. 8, 1942 in Portland. They farmed in the Portland area until 1955 when they moved to Casselton-Amenia, area where they continued to farm. Mr. Strand passed away on Sept. 21, 1984. She grew up and attended rural country schools in the Hatton, Northwood and Portland areas. She married Clarence Strand on Aug. 8, 1942 in Portland. They farmed in the Portland area until 1955 when they moved to Casselton-Amenia, area where they continued to farm. Mr. Strand passed away on Sept. 21, 1984. Judith stayed on the farm until 1996 at which time she moved into the Arthur Good Samaritan Center. Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, two brothers, Selmer and Rueben, one sister, Margaret, parents, Hans and Ella and one great-grandson Brennen Strand. She is survived by seven sons, David (Ardell) of Amenia, Harlan of Mayville, Russell of Amenia (Claudia Gebeke), Duane (Sandy) of Casselton, John (Christy) of Amenia, Paul (Francie) and Steve (Dawn) all of Casselton; one daughter, Eileen Strand of Fargo; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Thuen of Portland; two sisters. Henny Strand of Mayville and Alice Higdem of Portland. Funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 in Martin's Lutheran Church, Casselton. Burial was in Aurdal Cemetery, Portland. Officant-Rev.
