Description	:	Mrs. William Reed dropped dead Thursday morning between four and five o’clock. She had been in her usual health, which, however, was not the best for some time past, but the day before was apparently better than usual, having done her housework during the day and a churching late in the evening. About midnight she awoke Mr. Reed and told him that she had dreamed their son Ira was very sick. Her husband assured her that if anything serious was the matter they wold be informed, but she kept dreaming the same thing continually. She also enquired of her husband what he was going to do the next day and if he would be about the house. This was a very unusual question for her to ask. She also kept wishing for morning. About four o’clock Mrs. Reed arose, dressed her feet and sat down in a rocking chair and a little while Mr. Reed heard her breathing very heavily. He hastened to her side and determined at once that her end was near. He called in some of the neighbors who sent for a physician, but she was dead in less than half an hour. The deceased whose maiden name was Julia Day, was born in Ripley County, Indiana, May 25, 1837, being at the time of her death, 66 years and 10 days of age. She was married to William Reed in Fayette County, Illinois in October 1874 and to them three children were born, only one of whom survives, Ira, who resides south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Reed came to this place 27 years ago, having since resided in Villisca and vicinity. The deceased was a member of the Adventist Church, but being of a nervous disposition, she was unable to attend church regularly. She has always been a highly respected woman, being much loved by all who knew her. The community has been robbed by death of an old settler and worthy citizen. The funeral services will be held from the house today at two o’clock, Elder A. J. Bolster officiating and interment will be in the Villisca Cemetery.
