"Local News" section. "Death of Mrs. Parmer At a late hour Saturday evening a message was received here announcing the death of Mrs. Chas. K. Parmer, at her adopted home, Traveler's Repose. She had been very ill for sometime, and to many of her friends, the sad news was not a surprise. Mrs. Parmer's maiden name was Matheny, and her mother, Mrs. John Page, preceded her to the grave only a few months. In the early spring Mrs. Parmer, with her husband and children moved from Jackson's River to Travelers Repose, now Bartow, having purchased the well-known Peter Yeager property Her husband and four little children survive to mourn her loss. The remains were brought to Fairview, the burying place of her people, on Back Creek, and laid to rest Sunday evening, Rev. Mr. Brumbaugh conducting the service. We learn that, at the time of Mrs. Parmer's death, an invalid sister, who resides with them, was critically ill, and but little hope is yet entertained of her recovery." END
