She graduated from Hastings, Nebraska High School in 1951 and married Richard "Dick" Martin on January 22, 1953. They were blessed with four children. She graduated from Hastings, Nebraska High School in 1951 and married Richard "Dick" Martin on January 22, 1953. They were blessed with four children. The Martins moved to Beatrice, Nebraska in 1960 where they owned and operated Martin Optics before moving to Arizona after Dick's retirement in 1982. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice where she volunteered in several different capacities. June enjoyed bowling, baking pies, cookies and playing video poker at casinos. She especially enjoyed her family, working with the public and playing cards with friends. June Ella (Schnase) Martin, 84 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center in Beatrice. June is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick"; daughters, Cindy Erickson and life partner Patrick McCall of Nampa, Idaho, Debby Marcus and husband Donald Hawthorne of Omaha; sons, Steven Martin and wife Lisa of Omaha, Jerry Martin and wife Kylee Stuart of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters-in-law; and 1 brother-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Rev. Charles Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 AM Monday in the church basement. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 4 to 5 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
