She was born June 23, 1937, at Fonda and started to school at St. Columbkille’s in Varina. She made her first communion and was confirmed in St. Columbkille’s church before she moved with her parents and family to a farm near Pocahontas three years ago. Besides her parents, Karen Ann is survived by a brother Gerald, 11, and a sister, Beverly, 8, and her grandfathers, George Alig and John T. Rev. Fr. Geo. Wessling was celebrant of the requiem high Mass and Sisters M. Cecile Marie and Brenden were in charge of the choir. Six classmates of Karen Ann, a fifth grade student at Sacred Heart School, were pallbearers. They included Patrick O’Brien, Dennis Hood, John Shors, John Holder, Ed Monaghan and Richard Reis. Honorary pallbearers were also six of her classmates, Kathleen Eichler, Kathleen Hood, Dorothy Lieb, Rose Marie Storr, Jean Scott and Carol Peterson. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Merle Berry, Pontiac, Mich.; Joseph White, Pisgah; Mrs. George Meismer and daughter Pearl, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Alig, Mrs. Alverna DuBolt, Loretta Rohman and Lucille Kerker, all of Metamora, Ill.; Mrs. Wm. Fandel, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
