Description	:	Karen Kay Chase Wygle, age 73, of Parkersburg, Iowa was born the daughter of James and Francis (Gibbs) Chase on December 11, 1943, Superior, WI. She was baptized into the Christian faith in October of 1944. She received her education at the Charles City High School, Charles City, Iowa. On July 25th, 1959, Karen was united in marriage to Edwin Wygle of Charles City at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Read More	Karen Kay Chase Wygle, age 73, of Parkersburg, Iowa was born the daughter of James and Francis (Gibbs) Chase on December 11, 1943, Superior, WI. She was baptized into the Christian faith in October of 1944. She received her education at the Charles City High School, Charles City, Iowa. On July 25th, 1959, Karen was united in marriage to Edwin Wygle of Charles City at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Aplington, Iowa many years where they raised their six children. After Edwin retired they moved to Ackley, Iowa. Karen had worked as a housekeeper at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley until retirement and then moved to Parkersburg. Some of Karen’s favorite times were spent with family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. She loved feeding and watching birds. For many years she had her favorite companion and beloved dog Penny. Karen died Friday, July 28, 2017, of natural causes at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington and the caring hands of Care Initiatives Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Wygle on 12/19/05; her parents; two sisters, Mary Lockey and Shirley Wygle; and an infant brother, Jimmy Chase. Karen is survived by her six children, Beverly Cornelius of Aplington, Sheryl (Maroy) Woodley of Aplington, Kenneth Wygle of Aplington, Marjorie Wygle of Aplington, Sally Wygle of Aplington and Amy Ackerson of Parkersburg; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Stillions of Parkersburg, Virginia (Vinton) Putney of Moreland, GA and Pat Spencer (Tim Williams) of Sheridan, WY; one brother, Mike Chase of Appleton, WI; one sister-in-law, Marlene Wygle of Green Bay, WI; two brothers-in-law, Steve Wygle of Aiea, HI and Wayne Lockey of Northwood, IA. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, with burial in the Lowell Cemetery in Clarksville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel in Aplington, (319)346-1534, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
