| Description | : | Karen Pedersen was the second wife of Jens M Petersen. Karen was the sister of Jens' first wife Dorthea. After Dorthea passed away in Chicago shortly after the family had arrived in America, Jens settled in Nebraska with his children then sent to Denmark for Karen to come and keep house for him. Karen and her son Christian arrived in May of 1873. She helped Jens with the children, cooking, and housework.
