Description	:	KATHERINE M. WENDLAND HOMESTEADER Requiem high mass for Mrs. August Wendland was held from the Hingham Catholic Church at 10 o'clock last Friday morning. The Rev. John Kohnke was celebrant with Rev. T. L. Werner assistant. Interment was in the Hingham Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alphonse Muller, Ed Gatzemeier, Frank Hybner, Theo. Peterson, Matt Wehr, and Ted Tofte. The deceased, who made Rudyard her home during the past 30 years, had been ill the past four years, and passed away a few weeks prior to her 54th wedding anniversary, which would have been on May 6. Mrs. Katie Wendland is survived by her husband, August F. Wendland, a son, Andrew Wendland of Rudyard, three brothers, George Steiner of Sauk Center, Minnesota, John Steiner of Willow City, ND, and Robert Steiner of Spokane, Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Chase of Robindale, Minnesota, and Mrs. Annie Voss of Chicago, Illinois. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. A son, Martin, passed away in 1935, and a sister, Mrs. Ole Erickson of Sedgewick, Alberta, died December 30, 1943. Mrs. Wendland was born in McCloud County, Minnesota, October 16, 1871. She married August F. Wendland May 6, 1890, at Glencoe, Minnesota. The couple moved to Town, Pennsylvania, and later to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where they resided 12 years before coming to Montana, March 12, 1914, homesteading a half mile north of Rudyard. The couple had lived in Rudyard the past 15 years. The deceased was a member of Our Lady of Ransom Church of Hingham and the Catholic ladies club of Rudyard.
