Peter and Paul's church where a solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated. Mrs. Stevens died yesterday at 2:15 o'clock at her home on North Court street. She had been an invalid for many years and about 10 days ago suffered a stroke of paralysis. For several days she had been unconscious. She was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. William Schultes, with whom she had been living and the last few weeks another daughter, Mrs. Lambert J. Rohner, assisted. Katherine Albers was born March 16, 1851, in Cincinnati, O., and spent most of her girlhood there. Later she moved to Guttenberg, where she was united in marriage to John Herman Stevens in 1872 and shortly after they came to Carroll county and settled on a farm near Roselle. Later they located on a farm near Templeton and in 1904 they moved to Carroll and lived on South Crawford street. Mr. Stevens died in 1909 and a year later Mrs. Stevens purchased the preseht home on South Court street, where she has since lived. She is survived by six children: Mrs. William Schultes of Carroll; Mrs. Henry Harmeyer of Templeton; Bernard A. Stevens of Ashland, Wis.; George L. Stevens of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Lambert Rohner of Carroll; Mrs. Floyd Puffer of Webster City; and 26 grandchildren. All the children were at her bedside except George Stevens, who was detained on account of illness in the family. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Mary Segar of Bancroft; Mrs. Anna Schwaller of Roselle; and Mrs. Sylvester Urbany of Carroll. Mrs. Stevens was a devoted mother and a good neighbor until her illness kept her at home, was patient in her affliction had a kindly word for all who came to see her. She was a devout member of Ss. Peter and Paul's church and a member of the Christian Mothers sodality. She died well fortified with the last rites of the Catholic church.
