Description	:	Thies Rites Held Thurs February 16 Katherine Gronemeyer Thies was born at Vail, Iowa, on July 2, 1878 and died at the home of her daughter, Regina, at Ida Grove, on Feb. 14, 1950 She was married to Nicholas Thies of Arthur in St Martin's church at Odebolt, on October 15, 1896 by the Rev. Fr. Huseman. Fr. Huseman. To this union five children were born, Regina (Mrs. Adam Bieschke) of Ida Grove, Genevieve (Mrs. William Schwaller) of Odebolt, Veronica (Mrs. Ed Dinges) of Des Moines and Linus of Arthur, and a son who died in infancy. They lived on their farm near Arthur all of their married lives. Besides her bereaved husband and children she leaves a sister, Mrs. Margaret Auchstetter of Los Angeles, a brother, Henry at Chicago and Paul, at Odebolt. There are also eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Burial services were held from the Sacred Heart church in Ida Grove at 9a.m. Feb. 16 with the Rev. Fr. H. A. Dailey in charge. Burial was in the Odebolt cemetery. Pall bearers were Albert Huldeen, Fred Petersen, Jon Miller, Joe Roeder, Adam Roeder and Frank Lansink. Those from a distance who attended the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Thies of Burbank, S.D., Henry Gronemeyer of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Reising of Breda, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bauer of Pocahontas, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Knoblanch of Laurens, Will Landgraf of Early, Mrs. Mary Burkhart and Paul of Holstein, Adam Konrady of Galva, Leo Drilling of Lake View and hosts of friends from Odebolt and Arthur.
