Description	:	Mrs. Katherine Rachel Shryer, on near Brookds, formerly for many years a resident of Villisca, died Sunday morning at 4 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. C. Baker, in Shenandoah, her death resulting from paralysis which which she was stricken Thursday morning of last week. She never regained consciousness after she was stricken. Baker, in Shenandoah, her death resulting from paralysis which which she was stricken Thursday morning of last week. She never regained consciousness after she was stricken. Cather Schryre was born August 5, 1854 in Orange County, Indiana and was 73 years old at her death. Her mother died when she was nine months old and her father moved with his family to Centerville, Iowa in 1857. At the age of 14 years she was left an orphan. She was married to Ebenezer Joshua Chatterton on August 5, 1872 and came to Villisca in 1877. She was the mother of five children, one of whom, Fannie, died at the age of 14 years. The husband and father died November 16, 1909. The surviving children are Mrs. S. A. Jenkins, Corning; E. J. Chatterton, Villisca; Mrs. S. C. Baker, Shenandoah; and Darwin at home. She reared also a grandson, Darwin Chatterton, now in Red Oak. She leaves 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The body was brought Sunday morning to the A. B. Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca to await the funeral which was held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church of Mrs. Chatteron was a member for more than 40 years, Rev. Geo. A. Lawton of Villisca and Rev. J. S. Ellis of Griswold were in charge of the service. The pall bearers were Louis Enarson, L. C. Gourley, J. W. Winter, C. M. Orr, L. C. Gasson, and Guy Dirrim and the singing was by Margaret Winter, Margaret Lindell, Lucile Means, and Pauline Johnson, with Dorothy Peterson at the organ. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery beside the husband of the deceased. All of the children were her for the funeral. Mr. S. C. Bakker was accompanied by er husband and chlldren and others from Shenandoah were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henry and three children, Mr. and Mrs. A. Henry and Mrs. Ella Baldwin. Mr W. H.
