Description	:	MRS. KATHERINE ROEDER - Mrs. Roeder passed away at six o'clock Saturday evening, July 24, at the home of her son, Joe. Katherine Shimmer was born in Germany, April 21, 1843. In 1855 she came to the United States, residing in Lee County, Ill. She was united in marriage in 1861 to Peter Roeder, who passed away, January 3, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Roeder and family moved to this township in 1878, when the country was new, and endured the hardships of a new country. To this union thirteen children were born, seven of... Read More	MRS. KATHERINE ROEDER - Mrs. Roeder passed away at six o'clock Saturday evening, July 24, at the home of her son, Joe. Katherine Shimmer was born in Germany, April 21, 1843. In 1855 she came to the United States, residing in Lee County, Ill. She was united in marriage in 1861 to Peter Roeder, who passed away, January 3, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Roeder and family moved to this township in 1878, when the country was new, and endured the hardships of a new country. To this union thirteen children were born, seven of whom are left to mourn the loss of a mother. Those who survive are Peter of Arthur, Mrs. Matt Haub of West Brooklyn, Ill., Matt of Parkston, S. D., Mrs. Sophie Meyer of Danbury, Frank of Schaller and Joe and Adam, northwest of Odebolt. She also leaves fifty-three grandchildren, and forty-eight great grandchildren and one brother. Relatives and friends from a distance, besides the children, who were present were. Mr. Haub, son in law, Ben Shimmer, brother of Danburv, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Halbmaier of West Brooklyn, Ill., and Nick and Julius Klemn of De Kalb, Ill.
