Read More	Pioneer Record Jan 13, 1910 pg3 WAS AN OLD SETTLER PETER ROEDER LIVED NEAR ARTHUR 32 YEARS HE CAME TO AMERICA IN 1859 Peter Roeder, Sr., who died Monday night, Jan. 1910, at his farm home northeast of Arthur, had been in poor health for the past several years and had been confined to his bed the past two or three months. He died at 10 o'clock Monday night. Peter Roeder, one of the oldest, best known and most respected citizens of this section, was born in Germany in September, 1833, and was over 76 years of age. He came to America in 1859 and located in Lee County, Ill., in that year where in 1861 he was married to Catherine Schimmer. In 1878 the Roeders came to Sac County, and for a third of a century this has been their home. he leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father, the widow and 5 sons and 2 daughters. The funeral was held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Martin's Church.
