Kathrina Rupiper, daughter of John and Elizabeth Rupiper were born in Menominee, Neb., January 6, 1874 and died at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 23 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Spenner, August 29, 1895. The couple homesteaded in Naper, Nebraska until 1898 when they moved to Cedar County. They came to Crofton in 1909. Her husband preceded her in death June 13, 1945. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors for over 33 years. Seven children survive to mourn her passing, John and Joseph Jr. of Crofton, Ignatz of Wakefield, Wm. Spenner and Mrs. R. D. Haight of Sioux City, Mrs. Elizabeth Evans of Omaha and Mrs. Howard Guest of Sacramento, Cal. A son, Henry, preceded her in death in 1904. Ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren also remain to mourn her passing. Three brothers and three sisters also survive. Wm. Rupiper, Crofton; Henry Rupiper of Fordyce; John Rupiper of Yankton; Elizabeth Rupiper of Yankton; Mrs. Fred Munson and Mrs. Anton Foxhoven of Crofton. Out-of-town relatives and also friends who attended the funeral besides the immediate family were Mr. and Mrs. John Pels, Mrs. L. Pels, Mrs. William Schrad all of Carroll, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. John Rupiper, Elizabeth Rupiper, Alvin Munson, Mr. and Mrs. Omer Rupiper, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Rupiper, Mrs. Raymond Rupiper of Yankton, Henry Rupiper, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kathol, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Backer, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Kollars, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rupiper, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Juergens of Hartington, Henry Werthman of Omaha, Mrs. Fred Skaff and Jack Lane of Sioux City, and Mrs. Emeline Mannion of New Castle, Nebraska.
