Description	:	Kathryn "Kay" Irene Lahners, 66 of Newman Grove, died April 10 at the Boone County Health Center. Services were April 12 at the First Baptist Church at Albion with the Rev Richard Binderup officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Lahners, daughter of Edward and Nellie Sund Leeson was born May 21, 1926 at Superior. One of three children, she attended the Superior schools. Lahners, daughter of Edward and Nellie Sund Leeson was born May 21, 1926 at Superior. One of three children, she attended the Superior schools. She was united in marriage to Herbert "Swede" Owen of Webber, December, 1941. They lived at Superior until moving to Englewood, Colo., in 1960. Six years later Mr Owen was killed in a car accident. She was united in marriage to Thomas H Lahners March 1969. They moved to Newman Grove in 1970. They worked in sales for Lyric Jewelry Company of Omaha. She retired in 1988. Mr Lahners died in 1988. A member of the VFW Auxiliary, she was baptized at the First Baptist Church, Superior, later transferred to the Baptist church at Albion. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a baby daughter, Terri Janell Owen; a brother, Vaden Leeson; and a step daughter, Judith Siems. Survivors include her son Michael, Mustang, Okla; a daughter, Mrs Butch Cheatum (Janice), Elgin; stepchildren, Kathy Rall, Mrs Cecil Rawlings (Pamela), and David Lahners all of Grand Island; a sister, Mrs Alvin Jensen (Ada Mae), Edgar; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
