Johnson. `♥`♥`♥`♥`♥`♥` Kathryn June LaRoy Hobart Johnson passed away Oct. 12, 2008, at her home in Longview. She was born June 17, 1915, in Kalama, to Lewis R. and Hilda D. LaRoy. She attended Kalama grade school and graduated from Kalama High School. Kathryn married C. B. Hobart in 1935 and had a daughter, Carol Sue in 1937. Johnson. `♥`♥`♥`♥`♥`♥` Kathryn June LaRoy Hobart Johnson passed away Oct. 12, 2008, at her home in Longview. She was born June 17, 1915, in Kalama, to Lewis R. and Hilda D. LaRoy. She attended Kalama grade school and graduated from Kalama High School. Kathryn married C. B. Hobart in 1935 and had a daughter, Carol Sue in 1937. Kate attended beauty college and was a beautician for 10 years, including owning her own shop in Kalama for seven of those years. Kathryn then began her employment with Ross-Simmons Hardwood in Longview as a log header and retired 17 years later in 1978, as office manager. She and James Travis Johnson were married in 1976 and moved to Woodland. In 2006, Kathryn moved to Longview and lived her last years there. Surviving Kathryn is a stepson, Stanley (Shirley) Johnson; a sister-in-law, Norene LaRoy; her nephews and nieces; a very dear friend, Yvonne Misterek; and many others whose lives she touched. Preceding her in death were parents; her first husband, C B Hobart; a daughter, Carol Sue Hobart; her second husband, James T. Johnson; and four brothers, Ross, Edgar, Paul and Harold LaRoy. Contributions in Kathryn LaRoy Hobart Johnson's name may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632 or the Kathryn Johnson Memorial Bench Fund, c/o Kalama Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 824, Kalama, WA 98625. A gathering in Kathryn's memory will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Kalama Baptist Church, 112 Vincent Road.
