She is buried with her first husband, under his last name. KATHRYN CHAPUT Kathryn Mary Chaput was born to Joseph Komarek and Mary (Kotrous) Komarek on April 10, 1901, on a farm near Exeter. She passed away on November 24, 1993, at the O'Neill Care Center in O'Neill, at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 14 days. She was one of eight children in the family. She attended school through the eight grad at School District No. 68 in Fillmore County. As was the case in those years, following graduation from the eight grade, she immediately went to work. She was married to Ralph Elmer Bieghler of Logausport, In., on February 16, 1926, and to them one daughter Rosemary, was born. At the time of her marriage she was employed as a telephone operator for the Lincoln Telephone Company. In the 1940s, she worked as a clerk for the J.C. Penney Company in Geneva. She travelled around Nebraska, working as a nurse's aide. Following the death of her husband in 1970, she continued to work as a nurse's aide in Geneva. She spent the winters in McAllen, Tx., with friends, where she met and married Ernest Chaput. They enjoyed visiting friends and family during the summers. After his death, she returned to Geneva. She moved to O'Neill in 1985, and has been living at the O'Neill Nursing Home. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and the Mother's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to a bridge club, enjoyed gardening, flowers and various club activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters, a great-grandson, Nickolaus Gunzenhauser, and husbands, Ralph E. Bieghler and Ernest J. Chaput. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary (Joseph) Workman; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Geneva at 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, with Father William Grant officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joseph Women's Choir. Casket bearers were grandsons, Mike, Pat, Robert, Tom, Mark and Jim Workman. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery, next to her first husband, Ralph Bieghler. The Nebraska Signal December 1st, 1993 page 14.
