Jameson April 28, 1920 Mrs. Katie Jameson Katie Hester Holmes was born April 15th, 1888 at Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of George and Martha Holmes. Death came Dec. 11th, 1943 at her home 300 West Burlington St. in Fairfield, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 16 days. She had been a resident of Fairfield for about nine years. She had been in poor health since August and seriously ill for the past two weeks. At an early age she was converted and united with the Free Methodist church at Birmingham, Ia., keeping very true to that faith as long as she lived. April the 28th 1920 she was married to Ira E. Jameson of Birmingham, Iowa and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Robert McClaran and Mrs. Albert Christensen both of Fairfield. Besides these daughter the deceased is survived by two grandchildren, Gary Christensen and Carolyn McClaran, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Diehl of Boone, Iowa, Mrs. Lou Keith of Batavia, Iowa, and one brother, Ben R. Holmes, Mountain View, Missouri, also by nieces and nephews to whom she was very dear and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and mother and two brother, Elmer, formerly of Fairfield, and one brother who died in infancy. Katie, as she was known to all of her loved ones will be missed, as she was a kind, loving mother, always thinking of others before herself. She was considerate in all things, kind and loving to all. Funeral services were held in Fairfield, Ia. Monday, December 13 at 2:30 p.m. from the Hoskins Funeral Home with the Rev. George Reichert, pastor of the Fairfield Free Methodist church in charge. Burial was in the cemetery east of Birmingham. Attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Norris, Rose Hill, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. E. C.
