The ashes were sent to Villisca, arriving here at 9 a.m., Sunday and interment was made at 10 a.m. Monday in the family lost in Villisca Cemetery. Katie Taylor was born May 1, 1846 in Quebec, Canada. When she was 6 months of she accompanied her parents to southern Wisconsin where they established their home. She was married March 1865 to John Russell Barker. They moved to southwestern Iowa in 1870 and lived on a farm twelve miles north of Villisca for three years. They then moved to Villisca where they lived most the the time until April 1919. Following her husband’s death in that year, Mrs. Barker went to Redlands, California, where she spent her later years. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her only one who died in 1920. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers, who are Misses Maggie and Lillian Taylor and Mrs. Emma Kimel of Redlands, Will Taylor of Vancouver, Canada, and Bruce Taylor of Villisca. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, of of whom, Miss Frankie Barker, resides in Villisca.
