OBITUARY: "Winchester - Kedrick Bales, 56, R.R.3, Winchester, died 30 Dec 1968 at the Caylor-Nickle Clinic at Bluffton after an illness of several months. He was a veteran of WW II and a member of the Lynn Friends Church, and the Lynn American Legion Post. He was employed by the Randolph Co. Highway Dept. (Littrell) Bales: "Kedrick went to high school in Richmond and worked at the Palladium-Item newspaper until after he married and moved back to the old farm. Kedrick was a pilot (in WWII), a farmer and a member of the Friends in Lynn. He sang in a barber-shop quartet, The Richtones, and he played a trumpet. He was a dispatcher for the Randolph Co. Highway Dept. and ran on the Republican ticket for County Commissioner. Although he was living in Randolph Co., he died at the Bluffton Hospital of cancer."
