Description	:	Daily Freeman Journal Monday. 31 Oct 1966 KEITH CLIFTON DIED TODAY AT HOSPITAL Keith Clifton, 61, Hamilton county treasurer for 22 years, died this morning at the Hamilton county hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Homer A. Doak officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. Keith Clifford Clifton, son of Verner L. and Cora Van Note Clifton, was born Sept. 21, 1905 at Kamrar, Iowa. He received his education in the Webster City schools, graduating in 1924. Keith Clifford Clifton, son of Verner L. and Cora Van Note Clifton, was born Sept. 21, 1905 at Kamrar, Iowa. He received his education in the Webster City schools, graduating in 1924. He later attended and was graduated from the State University of Iowa in Iowa City. Mr. Clifton served as deputy county auditor and was also deputy couty treasurer, later being appointed to the treasurer's duties, Feb 11, 1944, an office he had held at the time of his death. He was united in mariage April 20, 1947, to Mary Maxon, and the couple had always resided in Webter City. He is survived by his wife; two step-daughters, Mrs. Garwin (Mardcia) Carlson of Boone and Mrs. Dale (Beth) Ganseveld of Webster City; eight grandchildren; by his mother, Mrs. V.L. (Cora) Clifton of Webster City and one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Theo) Pond of Evanston, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Harold Clifton. Mr. Clifton was a member of the Congregational church and was a member of the Elks lodge.
