Mr. Koerber operated the Farmers Union Grocery in St. Edward from 1948 to 1951, when he purchased the business, operating it under the name of Koerber Grocery until 1972. He was a member of the St. Edward Commercial Club and fire department and the Knights of Columbus at Albion. Son of the late Peter and Nellie Skeels Koerber, he was born Jan. 24, 1917 in Keith county north of Sutherland. A 1937 graduate of St. Edward High School, he married Rose Miller on Dec. 26, 1939. They lived in Arizona and California, returning to St. Edward in 1948. She died in 1949. His second marriage was to Agnes Polzin at Lindsay on Jan. 23, 1950, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, James of San Jose Calif., Dr. Rodney of Nebraska City and Alan of Travis AFB, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Virgie) Nelson of Genoa and Mrs. Clair (Susan) Carder of St. Edward; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Kathryn) Thomazin and Mrs. Earl (Dolores) Roberts, both of St. Edward; one brother, Franklin of Alhambra, Calif. His parents, two brothers, one sister and an infant son preceded him in death.
