Description	:	Keith Plantenberg, age 48, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 of an apparent heart attack while hiking in the mountains near Bozeman, Montana. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa with Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be at 2:15 pm at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service and Video Tribute at 7:00 pm at the Church. Keith was born on July 20, 1959 at Pierre, SD to Emil H. and Lavina E. (Hegge) Plantenberg. He grew up in Pierre, SD, Chamberlain, SD, and Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Sioux City West High School in 1978. He did carpentry work for the city of Sioux City, worked for the Sioux City Stockyards, and since Jan of 2000 he worked for the John Morrell Co. in Sioux City. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City. He enjoyed fishing, darts, playing cards, and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Keith is survived by his father, Emil Plantenberg of Crofton, 9 brothers and sisters, Norma and Ted Colt of Sioux City, Diane Meacham of Reno, NV, Norman and Lois Plantenberg of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Merle and Kay Plantenberg of Grand Island, NE, Rita Gill and her friend Larry Beaty of Sergeant Bluff, Kenny and Patty Plantenberg of Crofton, Marcia and Steve Gubbels of Randolph, Lisa and Jerry Collins of Sioux City, and Kevin and Bev Plantenberg of Watertown, SD, a sister in law Jeanne Plantenberg of Sioux City, 30 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Lavina on July 10, 2007, 3 brothers, Roger, Danny, and Donny Plantenberg, a brother in law Bill Gill, and a nephew Tim Colt. – Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, 7/31/2007
