Mr. Dyson was born Sept. 18, 1909, rural Concordia, the son of Vernard John and Iva Mae (Hillan) Dyson. He attended Hopewell School. He married Zella L. Woolard July 30, 1932 at Concordia. She survives of the home. Mr. Dyson farmed in the Concordia area until 1951 when they moved to Concordia. He worked for Bowman Seed Co. and later the Cloud Co. Noxious Weed Dept. He worked for several different gas stations until he retired at age 85. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a former Moose Lodge #1428 member, all of Concordia. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Verla Wisbey, Loree Slater, and Bernetha Collette; and three brothers, Leon, Cecil, and Harold Dyson. Survivors include his wife Zella Dyson of Concordia; two sons, Garold Dyson and wife Karen of Clay Center, and Norman Dyson and wife Marlene of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Jean Shankle of Big Bear, Calif., Charlene Peltier and husband Denny of Burbank, Calif., and Carlene Gepner of Burbank, Calif.; one brother, Lyle Dyson, of Concordia; two sisters, Vera Crum of Minneapolis, Kan., and Eula Lee Anderson and husband Andy of Topeka; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and three step great-great grandchildren.
