Description	:	Kenneth A. Thim, 87, died Wednesday at Yuma Life Care Nursing Home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church Saturday, at 2 p.m. in Akron with Pastor Ramon Robledo officiating. Burial will be held in the Otis Cemetery with Brenner Funeral Home of Akron in charge of arrangements. Thim was born Jan. 19, 1915 at the family homestead to Tony and Vera Marie (Malcolm) Thim. Burial will be held in the Otis Cemetery with Brenner Funeral Home of Akron in charge of arrangements. Thim was born Jan. 19, 1915 at the family homestead to Tony and Vera Marie (Malcolm) Thim. Raised on the homestead in a sod house, he attended White Rose Elementary School. He continued school traveling by horseback to High Prairie High School where he graduated in 1934 with a class of seven students. He married Ellen May Alexander on May 10, 1941. To this union four sons were born. They lived on several places south of Otis ending up on the Frank Sisson farm. Mrs. Thim died Dec. 12, 1953. On Oct. 16, 1955 he married Norma Maggard. To this union two daughters were born. He became a member of the United Methodist Church in 1963. He served on the Farm Bureau Board. Thim was a member of the school board during the time of one-room school houses, belonged to the Akron and Sterling Car Clubs and was a dealer in Archer Oil for 45 years. One of his many hobbies was tearing down old buildings to rebuild something on the farm. Besides gardening, he enjoyed going on the Heritage Club trips. He fully enjoyed decorating the whole farm with Christmas lights. Preceding him in death were his parents, Tony and Vera; sister, Leola Hooker; three grandsons and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Norma; sons: Carroll of Longmont, Duane of Yuma, Rod of Brush and daughter Karlene of Berthoud; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister, Wilma Salling of Stratton and brother, Eugene of Akron.
