Read More	ELLIS, KENNETH EVERETT—Kenneth Everett Ellis, son of Jesse and Dollie (Price) Ellis, was born June 18, 1906, at Curtis, Neb. When he was quite small the family moved to McCool Junction, where he joined the Methodist church. He attended high school in Geneva. In May 1926, he joined the United States Nave. While in service he contracted polio. He was discharged from service in August, 1928. After serving in the Navy, his home had been in or near Geneva. Following the death of his parents in Geneva a few years ago, he resided on his farm northwest of Geneva. He was interested in hunting and fishing, also in his riding stock. Friday, while visiting friends at the Terminal Café and the Hill Oil co. station on Highway 81, Mr. Ellis appeared to be ill. He went home and later in the day when he failed to appear as usual at the station, friends went to his farm to look for him. They failed to find him. Later Melvin Whiteley went to the farm and found him hear the barn, where he apparently had suffered a heart attack. Help was summoned and he was taken to the Fillmore County hospital where he died within a short time, Friday, January 4, 1963, at the age of 56 years, 6 months, and 17 days. He is survived by a sister, Vadah, Mrs. Loyd Russell of Lincoln; two nieces Betty and Patty, and five nephews, Paul, Charles, Richard, Marvin, Mervin, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday, January 7, at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva with Rev. Alden B. Sears officiating. Ralph Reemts, accompanied by Mrs. Willard H. Foster, sang “Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden.” Pallbearers were Wayne DuBois, Fred Fisher, Jesse Richards, Charles Russell, Mervin Russell and Melvin Whiteley. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 10 January 1963 page 9
