Description	:	Kenneth Harold "Kenney" Olson, of rural Holdrege, Nebraska passed away October 18, 2008 at his home southeast of Funk, Nebraska. Kenney was born November 14, 1930 in Holdrege, Nebraska the eldest of five children born to Carl E. and Millie B. (Schroder) Olson. In 1948 all five children were baptized on their farm. Kenney was born November 14, 1930 in Holdrege, Nebraska the eldest of five children born to Carl E. and Millie B. (Schroder) Olson. In 1948 all five children were baptized on their farm. Kenney spent his childhood on a farm south of Holdrege in Harlan County, Nebraska. He received his primary education at Ragan, Nebraska and then transferred to Holdrege, Nebraska High Schoolwhere he graduated from Holdrege, Nebraska High School with the class of 1949. On June 25, 1954 he was united in marriage to Gwenda Nell Martin and to this union three children were born: Scott, Beth and Sue. The family made their home south of Funk, where Kenney engaged in farming and a cow/calf operation until his passing. He served his country in the United States Army from September of 1954 until his honorable discharge in July of 1956. Kenney was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska active with the Wilcox Lions Club, where he served as past President, served on the Wilcox School Board of Education and was a member of the Tri-County Center Grange. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Gwen Olson of Holdrege, Nebraska; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Martin of Holdrege, Nebraska; two children: Scott Olson and his wife, Vicky of rural Axtell, Nebraska and Beth Kabes and her husband, Mike of rural Leigh, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Jason Olson, Candice Vinton and her husband, Darren, Crystal Klug and her husband, Beau, Curtis Olson, Myles, Zach and Kenton Kabes; one great-grandson, Brody Vinton; three sisters: Lois Rydlund and her husband, Bill of Holdrege, Nebraska, Loretta Sturgis and her husband, Dale of Holdrege, Nebraska and Rogene Peterson and her husband, Paul of rural Bertrand, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Gordon Soneson of Holdrege< Nebraska, Jim Martin and his wife, Elaine of Lincoln, Nebraska and Tony Martin and his wife, Carol of Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law, Ginger Petersen and her husband, Jim of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Teresa Sue Olson, sister, Lucille Soneson and father-in-law, RL Martin.
