Description	:	Kenneth Hurd, the son of William and Nellie (Dixon) Hurd, was born on December 31, 1917 on a farm north of Webber, Kansas. He passed away on December 25, 2008 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 25 days. Kenneth attended the Superior Public School system and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1934. He was united in marriage to Helen Marie McElroy on July 8, 1941 at Quinter, Kansas. Read More	Kenneth Hurd, the son of William and Nellie (Dixon) Hurd, was born on December 31, 1917 on a farm north of Webber, Kansas. He passed away on December 25, 2008 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 25 days. Kenneth attended the Superior Public School system and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1934. He was united in marriage to Helen Marie McElroy on July 8, 1941 at Quinter, Kansas. To this union they were blessed with 3 children, Wayne, Margaret and an infant son who died in 1953. He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian and now the Grace Community Evangelical Free Church in Superior. Kenneth was manager of the Ideal Market in Superior for many years. He also worked for the Safeway and Jack and Jill stores in Superior as butcher and produce manager. Helen and Kenneth enjoyed their retirement years in Superior. Kenneth entered the Superior Good Samaritan Center in 2006. Kenneth was a founding member of the Superior Lions Club, Boy Scout Leader, church elder and former secretary of the Superior Bowling League. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, photography and singing. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Helen on May 14, 2001, and an infant son, two brothers, Hollis and Wallace and one sister, Lucille Shill. Survivors include his son, Wayne and wife Pat of Beatrice, Nebraska; daughter, Margaret and husband Brian Stranghoner of Wichita, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Russell Hurd and wife Michelle, Darrell Hurd and wife Jessie, Erica Barker and husband Robb and Kara Gilbert and husband Eric, three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lindsey and Carlie and one sister, Arlene Dugas of Wichita, Kansas along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
