He was born May 4, 1923 in Davis County to Ralph O. and Trilby Dunlavy Glattfelder. He married Helen Sargeant Sept. 28, 1947. Glattfelder, 79, of 1302 E. Fourth St., died 4:45 p.m. April 3, 2003, at home. He was born May 4, 1923 in Davis County to Ralph O. and Trilby Dunlavy Glattfelder. He married Helen Sargeant Sept. 28, 1947. A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, he was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1941. He served in the United States Army during World War II at SHAEF Supreme Headquarters. He started in the printing business with Webert Printing, purchasing Ottumwa Printing in 1960, and in 1969 he purchase Webert Printing. He was a member of East End Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, also a member of Ottumwa Noon Lions, Izaak Walton League and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Surviving is his wife, a daughter, Teri Nichols of Bettendorf; two sons, Denny and Kenny R. Glattfelder both of Ottumwa; and a granddaughter, Tracy Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Katherine Randall, Marguerite Glattfelder and May Louise Linden. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Stephanie Raphael-Nakos officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds. Military services will be conducted by Wallace Gillispie Post #4958 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Memphis, Mo. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Welden, Elton Fisher, Tony Overturf, John Linden, Tom Randall and Heinie Folkers.
