Description	:	WATERVILLE - Kenneth Leroy Morgan, 84, of Winslow, died May 7, 2010, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Lewiston, the son of Roy and Louise (Fisher) Morgan. Kenneth grew up in the Head of Falls area by the Two-Cent Bridge. He was educated in local schools until family problems and financial hardship forced him to quit high school to help support the family. Read More	WATERVILLE - Kenneth Leroy Morgan, 84, of Winslow, died May 7, 2010, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Lewiston, the son of Roy and Louise (Fisher) Morgan. Kenneth grew up in the Head of Falls area by the Two-Cent Bridge. He was educated in local schools until family problems and financial hardship forced him to quit high school to help support the family. Being the oldest of four children he assumed much responsibility and even sold his prized bicycle to buy school clothes for his brother Dickie. Kenneth was drafted into the Army at the age of 18 and fought in General Patton's Battle of the Bulge. He rarely spoke of the battles he faced and was humbled by war. He also had an artistic talent of drawing and illustrating his platoon's book "Nix-Versteh." Kenneth married his honey, Marie Lizotte, prior to the war's end in Aberdeen, Md. At the end of the war, he was injured in a Jeep accident and spent three months in a hospital in France. After the war, he returned to school to get his missed education. Kenneth worked for Hollingsworth and Whitney, Scott Paper, and Sappi for a total of 40 years. Kenneth was predeceased by his mother Louise; father Roy; daughter Diane Morgan Meader; brother Dick Morgan, and sister Pricilla Morgan Lizotte. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years Marie; son Bill and his wife, Deborah, of Sacramento; sister Geraldine Morgan Ford of Virginia; granddaughter Katie Wetherill and her husband, Colin, of Philadelphia; grandsons Christopher of Hartford and Michael of Boston; very special niece and nephew Sandra Wadleigh and Bob Theriault. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Burial will be at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. (Morning Sentinel 5/1/2010)
