Description	:	Edgar Harris, 89, died April 20, 2009. Funeral services were Saturday at the Litchfield Christian Church on May 2, 2009 with burial of the cremains at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, south of Litchfield. Services were conducted by his son-in-law, Jack Price. Kenneth "Edgar" Harris was born Jan. 13, 1920 to Walter G. Harris and Mary Elizabeth Lomax, at the farm home six miles east and north of Litchfield. Funeral services were Saturday at the Litchfield Christian Church on May 2, 2009 with burial of the cremains at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, south of Litchfield. Services were conducted by his son-in-law, Jack Price. Kenneth "Edgar" Harris was born Jan. 13, 1920 to Walter G. Harris and Mary Elizabeth Lomax, at the farm home six miles east and north of Litchfield. He grew up on the family farm attending Fairview Country School and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1937. He was baptized at the Litchfield Christian Church at the age of 11. He was involved in Sunday school, church, youth work and Bible study. He farmed with his parents for four years and then enrolled in Manhattan Bible College in Kansas. On Aug. 2, 1944 he was united in marriage with Irene Cherry at the home church in a double wedding ceremony with his sister, Leota, and Gilbert Yerian. After graduation from college, they moved to Ord, where they served the Christian churches of Ord and Burwell. In 1946 they moved to Minden where they served the Christian Church there as well as at Wilcox. He later attended seminary at Butler School of Religion in Indianapolis. When they returned to Nebraska, they ministered to the churches in Aurora and Giltner. In 1956 they served the Christian Church in Alliance for eight years and then were called to Havelock Christian Church in Lincoln. They also served in Guymon, Okla. and concluded with a 15 year ministry in Fowler, Colo. The Harrises retired in June of 1985 and moved to Canon City, Colo. for 12 years and then to the Regency Retirement Residence in Kearney for four years. In 2001 they moved to a North Platte Retirement Village to be near a daughter and husband. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Joan Harris of Philadelphia, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Raaberg of Bremerton, Wash. and Debie and Mark Dunsmoor of Pueblo West, Colo. and a son-in-law, Jack Price of North Platte; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene in 2008; daughter, Laree Price, brothers, Wilford Harris and sister, Leota Yerian.
