Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Life Community Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Stan Davis will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mr. Freeman was born on June 28, 1948, at Burwell, the son of Harvey and Phyllis (Johnson) Freeman. He was united in marriage to Carol V. Hansen on Sept. 5, 1967, at Lake Andes, South Dakota. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Grand Island; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Shane and Kim Freeman of St. Libory and Travis and Sheri Freeman of Grand Island; his mother, Phyllis Freeman of Scotia; six brothers and four brothers-in-law, Billy and Shirley Freeman of Grand Island, Allen and Betty Freeman of Clarks, Roger and Margaret Freeman of Greeley, Rodney Freeman of Tekamah, Keith Freeman of Grand Island and Gene and Theresa Freeman of Doniphan; and two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan and Dick Albright of Grand Island and Pam and Rob Kokes of North Loup. He also leaves to cherish his memory two granddaughters, Megan and Jaiden Freeman of Grand Island. As a young child, Kenny moved with his family to a farm north of Scotia. He received his education at Mount Hope country school, North Loup-Scotia Public School and graduated from North Loup-Scotia High School in 1966. He then worked as a farmhand for area farmers, including Dwight Johnson. He and Carol moved to St. Libory in 1970, where he worked at Firestone Retread in Grand Island. In 1973, he began working for Mamot Feedlots where he worked for the next 18 years. He then went to work for Ferrell Gas in Grand Island and transferred with the company to Frisco, Colorado in 1995. In 1999, the couple returned to Grand Island where he worked for Aurora Co-Op in Central City. In 2009, he began working at Darling International in Grand Island, where he was working until the time of his death. Kenny was a 13 year member of the St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Taffi Rae Freeman and his father, Harvey Freeman.
