He received the Bronze Star and a ribbon for participation in the liberation of the Philippines. Kenneth Walter Hush, the son of Walter W. and Gertrude Ladoux Hush; was born May 24, 1910, at Elmdale. He married Mildred R. Burns on August 17, 1930 at Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Hush was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. Deacon Emeritus. He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7957 and a former member of the Emporia Ostomy Club. He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert K. Hush of Emporia; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren a son, Donald L. Hush, died earlier. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Goad of the church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Lane Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the church and sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
