Description	:	Mrs Keziah E Beckett, one of the oldest residents of Butler county, died at her home, 218 Buckeye street, Tuesday morning at 6:45, aged 86 years, 2 months and 13 days. For the past six years Mrs Beckett had been an invalid, and her death came at an early hour this morning, as her life had been lived during that time, quietly and peacefully. Read More	Mrs Keziah E Beckett, one of the oldest residents of Butler county, died at her home, 218 Buckeye street, Tuesday morning at 6:45, aged 86 years, 2 months and 13 days. For the past six years Mrs Beckett had been an invalid, and her death came at an early hour this morning, as her life had been lived during that time, quietly and peacefully. Mrs Beckett was born in Liberty township, October 11, 1826, being the daughter of Arthur and Mary Pierson Elliott. when a young girl she moved with her parents to the farm now occupied by Joe Harvey, near Ohlingers, but at that time little more than a wilderness. It was here that she was united in marriage to James R Beckett, eight children being born of the union. Mrs Beckett was the youngest of a family of nine children, her five brothers and three sisters having preceded her in death. Of her eight children three are still living, Edward E and William R Beckett of this city, and James P Beckett of Paris, Ill, and also two grandchildren, Ralph Beckett of Hamilton and Marcella Beckett of Rochester, NY, who with their many friends will mourn her death. Born the daughter of a Methodist minister, Mrs Beckett had been an earnest and devoted Christian all her life, and united with the Methodist church in early girlhood. At the time of her marriage she united with the church of her husband, he being of the Presbyterian faith, but at his death once more joined the First Methodist church of this city in which she was a loyal and willing worker until her illness prevented her further efforts. Her charities were many, and she was a trustee of the Children's Home of this city, being president of the board of managers for many years. The funeral will take place Saturday, with announcement of the time later. Published in the Butler County Democrat, Thursday, December 26, 1912
