Read More	Pine Bluff Commercial, Tuesday, August 10, 2004, Page 8A: April 29, 1914 – August 8, 2004 Obit.—Kirby Malone Watson, 90, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday at Trinity Village Retirement Home. He was born April 29, 1914, at Pine Bluff, a son of the late Benjamin Watson and Margaret Poynter Watson. He served in the Army during World War II with Gen. George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He was owner and operator of his own sawmill. He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bennie Watson, David Watson, Thomas Watson, Wesley Watson and Selby Watson; and two sisters, Nannie Mae McDonald and Winnie Divine. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hale-South Funeral Home with William Kurt Boggan officiating. Burial will be in Fitzhugh Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of service on today. Born in Pine Bluff on April 29, 1914, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret Poynter Watson. He was a World War II veteran and served under General George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He was sawmill owner and operator and had several patents on equipment for the sawmill. He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Bennie Watson, David Watson, Thomas Watson, Wesley Watson and Selby Watson; and two sisters, Nannie Mae McDonald and Winnie Divine. Survivors include his nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, in the Hale-South Funeral Home chapel. Dr. William Kurt Boggan and Dr. Randal Reddin officiated. Burial was in Fitzhugh Cemetery.
