Pleasant Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD Kristi R. Larson, daughter of L.E. Laurie and Kathryn (Matthews) Larson, was born November 13, 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended the Hollister School and the Hope Schools in Sioux Falls, the Training School in Vineland, New Jersey, the Laura Baker School in Northfield, Minnesota, the Redfield (SD) State Hospital and School, and Sioux Vocational School in Sioux Falls. While residing in Redfield, she swam the freestyle in the South Dakota Special Olympics. She moved to Texas in 1995, where she was a client of Texas Rural Health Services and the Creative Opportunities Center. Kristi will always be remembered for her love of purses, high-heeled shoes, watches, knock-knock jokes, and her uncanny ability to remember birth dates. Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Pete Larson and his wife, Therese, Austin, TX; her niece, Kathryn Larson, Austin, TX; her nephew, Stephen Larson, Austin, TX; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, L.E. Laurie Larson and Kathryn M. Larson. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for refreshments and fellowship at First Lutheran Church following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Dakota Achieve (formerly Sioux Vocational Services) in Sioux Falls or the donor's favorite charity.
