The deceased was eighty four years, two months and five days old. He leaves a wife and five sons to mourn his loss. Laban Utterback was born in Kentucky, September 27, 1807. Came to Indiana in 1830 and was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Parker in the year 1832, and they were blest with seven children--six boys and one girl. Martha A. died in Indiana when she was ten years old and Laban, who died in California about a year ago; the other five and his aged wife survive, of whom are: F. M. Utterback who resides in South Ottumwa; Hezekiah Utterback, of Marion, Iowa; R. M. Utterback, of Olympia, Washington; J. D. Utterback of Hayesville, Iowa; Hyrum Utterback of Delta, Iowa. The deceased came to Iowa with his family in the year 1850 and has lived in Lancaster township till the day of his death. He was a believer of the Baptist church. He was well known and esteemed by all, a good citizen and a kind father and loving husband. (Mary #47239587)
