She died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-four. LaMorn was born in Schleswig, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ July 3, 1921 and later confirmed on April 5, 1936 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Read More	LaMorn Whitenack June 15, 1921-July 6, 2005 LaMorn Roberta Whitenack was born June 15, 1921, the daughter of Marcus and Edna Bielenberg Stegemann. She died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-four. LaMorn was born in Schleswig, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ July 3, 1921 and later confirmed on April 5, 1936 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. November 11, 1939, LaMorn was united in marriage to Albert Whitenack at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with the birth of eight children and were honored to celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary. LaMorn sold Avon for twenty years and was in the Avon President's Club for many years. She loved traveling to see her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, canning and was an excellent cinnamon roll baker. In her spare time, LaMorn enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping and music, especially polka. She also loved her poodles and going to coffee with her lady friends. LaMorn was an active life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig and their Ladies Aid. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Albert; two sons, Howard and LeRoy as young children; one granddaughter, Angela in infancy; one great-grandson, Dominick in infancy and one sister, Betty Jean Malone. Survivors include four daughters, Marcella Buchanan and her husband, Tome of Windsor, Missouri; LaJune Pauley of Spirit Lake; Ruth Ann Carstensen and her husband, Chuck of Philip, South Dakota; Suzann Grace Ibach of Denison; two sons, William Whitenack and his wife, Joy of Schleswig; Paul Whitenack and his wife, Erla of Denison; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Lee Stegemann and his wife, Mildred of Denison; Roy Stegemann of Nebraska; one sister, Mary Ann Fertig and her husband, Bernie of Wall Lake; and a sister-in-law, Janet Stegemann of Omaha; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. Rev. Merle Mahnken officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Marlene Hight provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns "Nearer, My God, To Thee", "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me" and "Amazing Grace, How Sweet The Sound". Those serving as pallbearers were Paul Whitenack, Jr., Randy Carstensen, Shane Whitenack, Bobby Whitenack, Heath Whitenack, Billy Whitenack, Chris Whitenack, Jacob Helkenn, Tim Pauley and Bill Bates.
