Description	:	Larry Dean Leners, 75, of Beatrice died at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1944 at Beatrice and graduated from Holmesville High School in 1962. He married Judy Comer on May 9, 1965 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Wymore. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1965 – 1971. He worked with all aspects of concrete construction over four decades and also helped his father and father-in-law on the farm. Read More	Larry Dean Leners, 75, of Beatrice died at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1944 at Beatrice and graduated from Holmesville High School in 1962. He married Judy Comer on May 9, 1965 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Wymore. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1965 – 1971. He worked with all aspects of concrete construction over four decades and also helped his father and father-in-law on the farm. The last few years, he had worked for Dean Otto Farms. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Beatrice before placing his membership at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. He was a long-time volunteer at the Filley Stone Barn and with the Blue Valley Antique Association. He enjoyed restoring antique Farmall International tractors, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and the family dog, Oliver. He and Judy liked to winter in Texas the last few years. He was loved and will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife, Judy of Beatrice; two sons, Stacy Leners and his significant other, Belinda Graham of Beatrice and Timothy (Kathy) Leners of Fremont; seven grand-children, Paige (Caelan) Adams, Ellie Leners, Emma Leners, Charlotte Leners, Nathan Leners, Samantha Leners and Harm Leners; two great-grandchildren, Adaline and Maeve Adams; one sister-in-law, Barbara Leners; two brothers-in-law, Thomas R. Comer of Tennesee and Mike Comer of Beatrice; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Tena Harms Leners, an infant brother, brother, Virgil Leners and parents-in-law, Thomas R. and Evelyn Comer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Heather Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice with military rites conducted by Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the Beatrice American Legion. Casual dress is requested by the family. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice with Carolyn Schlake and Shirleen Fritz in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
