Larry "Butch" Ford Funeral services for Larry "Butch" Eugene Ford, 66, Tipton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton with interment in Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mr. Ford died June 18 at University hospitals in Iowa City. The son of Lawrence and Katherine Linn Ford, he was born Aug. 6, 1949 in Tipton. He attended Tipton high school and later was employed by the City of Tipton for 27 1/2 years and Happy Joe's as a dishwasher. He was a member of the Tipton Fire Department for 11 years and also a past member of the Tipton Moose and Tipton Country Club. Mr. Ford was known by many in his community and would often stop and talk, and offer a smile, with anyone he would pass on his many walks he would take around town. He had many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was a very proud uncle. He is survived by a sister, Judy (Bob) Allen, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Vernon Stuhr; and a sister, Beverly Stuhr. A memorial fund has been established.
