Description	:	OLD COUNTY RESIDENT DEAD. Lars Johnson Dies at Home Near LaMoille After Long Illness. Death at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon caused the death at his home one-half mile east of Lamoille of Lars Johnson, aged 77. Death was due to a four months' illness resulting from senile gangrene, following a stroke of paralysis, suffered over a year ago, and arterial sclerosis. Mr. Johnson was a native of Skyllingaryde, Sweden, where he was born Oct. 3, 1837. He was united in marriage to Miss Maria Johnson of Molenarp, Sweden on Jul 4, 1884, and came to this country in 1890, settling in Marietta township, where he made his home up to four years ago, when he moved to Lamoille. Mr. Johnson is survived by his widow and eight children, in the persons of Mrs. August E. Hilleman, Lamoille; Mrs. J. N. Lander, Marietta: Gust and Fred, and Misses Lena, Hilda and Jennie Johnson, who are at home. Another daughter, Edith died less than a year ago. There are also two brothers, August and Benjamin Johnson, at Toftyrd, Sweden and a sister Mrs. Emma Johnson of Chicago. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from the home at Lamoille at 2 o'clock, interment following in the Marietta cemetery. Marshalltown, Iowa, Evening Times-Republican, May 31, 1915, p. 8
