Married to John Clinton Hadley in 1876. *********************************** Mrs. Laura Hadley Dead Mrs. Laura Hadley, an early resident of Emporia, died Thursday at 9:45 o'clock at her home, 818 Merchant. No funeral arrangements have been announced. Mrs. Laura Hadley's maiden name was Laura Pearce. She was born November 12, 1858 in Morgan County, Indiana. She was married to John C. Hadley, May 25 1876 in Morgan County. Mr. and Mrs. Hadley came to Kansas about 1832 and lived first at Dunlap. A year later they moved to Emporia. Mr. Hadley died in Emporia March 6, 1909. Mrs. Hadley was a member of the Grace Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Lodge. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. D. P. Cowan, of Emporia; Mrs. P. T. Simons, of St. Louis. Mo.; Mrs. V. F. Follett, of Emporia; Mrs. L. B. Parker of Kansas City, Mo. and Miss Dorothy Hadley and Miss Lura Hadley of Kansas City, Mo.: three sons, J. Clyde Hadley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Huber Hadley and H. V. Hadley, of Salina, and two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Campbell of Pueblo, Colo. and Miss Flora Pearce of Los Angeles Calif. *********************************** Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Hadley who died Thursday morning at her home, 818 Merchant, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Grace Methodist Church. The services were conducted by Rev. J. C. Brogan, pastor of the church. Rev. Mr. McKenzee of Topeka, assisted. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Todd, Lee Wright, Henry E. Smith, Archie Ramsburg, Roy Ayer, Fred Fowler, F. E. Sutton and C. H. Rickard, Hugh Broton, Ed Randolph. Mrs. H. W. Peterson and Helen Jones sang. Miss Eunice Piper was accompanist.
